Summary: Cloud fails to throw a badly injured Sephiroth into the Mako in the Nibelheim reactor, and Hojo finds himself with three test subjects. But after four years Hojo is losing patience - Cloud is succumbing to Mako addiction, Zack shows no progress, and Sephiroth remains mentally imbalanced and unpredictable. When it becomes clear that Hojo intends to terminate them, Zack masterminds a plan for all three of them to go on the run.
