Tifa shrugged. “Dryers do tend to eat socks, don’t they?”

“It’s not my socks, it’s my panties! And they don’t even make it into the dryer – I counted them this time. And it’s my favorite, too, the one I wore during our quest to defeat Sephiroth.” The little ninja looked like she was going to cry.

“I’m sure it’ll turn up.”

Just outside, Vincent shot Cid a dark and suspicious look.

“What?” muttered the pilot. “I always put ‘em back after.”
